Pune Corporation PMC Elections 2017 are just around the corner (February 21), and if you’re still looking for reasons to go out and vote, here’s the most important one:
The people you elect now will be responsible for a lot of things in the next five years – including building and fixing roads, maintaining city parks and public spaces, managing and funding local emergency services, and even deciding if a developer can build a 22 storey commercial building in your residential neighbourhood!
But why don't adequate number of citizens turn up to vote?
As a young and responsible citizen of the country, your vote is important and will shape the way your city progresses till the next election. You can start by searching your name in the voter list, which can be a struggle. Assuming you get to the voter search page, you have to select 10 different options before you can actually start searching. Choose a wrong option and you will never find your name!
Here is the solution!
To make this process simpler, and to encourage people to vote in the upcoming Municipal Corporation Elections, InTouchApp has introduced a missed-call number: 022 3965 9494 or click here. If you’re eligible to vote and have a valid voter ID card, you can you can search your name in voter list, and receive your voter information on your phone simply by giving a missed call this number. Additionally, InTouchApp will remind you to vote on election day, so you can plan your schedule ahead of time.
The campaign is not limited to only Pune residents, but is open to other cities like Mumbai, Thane, Amravati, Nashik, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nagpur, Solapur and more.
