Lost The Plot is Pune’s first and only Rooftop Cinema-Lounge. They offer a movie experience like no other – quality cinema on big screen with Sennheiser wireless headphones for each person, under the starry night sky! They have also got beanbags and comfy sofas for a home-theatre experience away from home. So you can sit back with your favorite film and indulge in delicious finger-food menu and movie-themed cocktails as they serve them to your seat. No wonder it is becoming one of the most loved hangout places in Aundh area.
A passionate film buff, Nikita thought up the idea for Lost The Plot while studying Law in London. “Good movies have an immense power to not just entertain but also move and inspire people, because they are filled with motivating stories, usually from amongst us, interesting characters and an ability to touch people’s imagination and bring to life some missing aspect of their lives. Lost The Plot wants to become a platform for such cinema to flourish all over India, which promotes and features work by young filmmakers and provides wholesome, thought-provoking entertainment.”
She also adds,
“We also wanted to give people an alternative to the multiplex experience in terms of ambiance and film selection. So our film curating primarily focuses on popular cult classics and independent films, which normally don’t get to see the light of day in theatres. We’re now also collaborating with the Alliance Francaise de Pune to screen the latest in French films twice a month.”
Where is Lost The Plot?
The programming currently boasts a variety of activities and events, from film related workshops, to kids movies and activities, and even meet-n-greet evenings with members of the film fraternity – Directors, cast, so audiences can get a first hand peek behind the scenes. The flagship outlet at Seasons Hotel in Aundh has a capacity of about 40-50 people and has seen some insane nights – right from our Haunted Rooftop Halloween Party, the Andaaz Apna Apna drinking game night, to a recent panel held about the FTII student protests, which ended up becoming a 2 hour long very interactive discussion about democracy and freedom of expression.
They have also recently launched pop-up open-air movie screenings in Kalyani Nagar at the Classic Rock Coffee Co. amphitheatre. These happen every Tuesday night around 8pm. It’s a cool, rock inspired venue with lots of potential for fun events! Their schedule is updated on their website with a lot more fun interaction, competitions and photos being released on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter portals while bookings and reservations are possible via BookMyShow.
They’re also very open to film recommendations and suggestions on how they can improve, so you can also write to [email protected] or call on 8308174419 for any further information.
