Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kanpur, proudly hosted UpStart’24, its flagship pitching event, across
four cities: Hyderabad (October 5), Bengaluru (October 26), Delhi (October 26), and Mumbai
(November 9). Celebrated as one of India’s leading Business Model Competitions, UpStart
redefines the conventional startup competition by providing participants with an immersive and
transformative experience that goes beyond prizes.
UpStart’24 attracted participation from over 500 startups, offering them a platform to engage in a
multi-stage process involving brainstorming sessions, face-to-face mentoring, and strategic
refinement of business ideas. Unlike traditional pitching formats, UpStart prioritizes nurturing ideas
and fostering entrepreneurial growth through a hands-on approach.
The competition will culminate in its final round at E-Summit’24, E-Cell IIT Kanpur’s flagship
annual event. Finalists will present their refined business plans to a distinguished panel of mentors
and venture capitalists, further showcasing their entrepreneurial acumen.
Scheduled from January 17 to 19, 2024, the 13th edition of E-Summit will bring together
academia, investors, and visionary entrepreneurs. As a platform for innovation, it features diverse
competitions spanning business ventures, product design, and social entrepreneurship. Attendees
can witness a confluence of creativity, strategy, and talent shaping the future of entrepreneurship.
UpStart’24 was graced by representatives from top investment firms, including Indian Angel
Network, Chiratae Ventures, Dexter Capital, Capri Xponentia, Hyderabad Angels, Anitya,
and others. These interactions provided startups with invaluable opportunities for networking,
mentorship, and funding.
Key partnerships also enhanced the event’s impact. T-Works and Awfis, as the incubation and
location partner, provided a dynamic space for startups to showcase their ideas.
